Gastronomy

One of the first things you will notice in Spain is the wide variety of fresh, local produce that you can enjoy at a fraction of the cost of the UK.

This area is known as the Garden of Spain, where the perfect Mediterranean diet of tomatoes, peppers, artichokes, asparagus and olives as well as fresh citrus fruits, watermelons and pomegranates can all be seen growing at the roadside.

You can experience paella made from prized rice grown in Calasparra and seafood ranging from prawns to swordfish that are caught locally and sold in the area’s daily street markets or served in the many specialist restaurants.
